We grabbed our iced lattes and sat outside under the shade trees—such a great way to slow down and enjoy the vibe of Durango. They also have a cute little retail section with local gifts, coffee beans, mugs, and fun souvenirs.

While exploring downtown Durango, we stumbled into the cutest little surprise—The Bee Goodness Store. Packed with all things honey and hive-related, this charming shop features local honey, beeswax candles, skincare products, and even honey-based treats. The kids loved sampling the different varieties of honey, and we picked up a few jars to take home. It’s a fun and unique stop that adds a little extra sweetness to your day in Durango.

💦 Splash Day at Lake Nighthorse Wibit Aqua Park

One of our favorite days in Durango was spent at Lake Nighthorse, just a short drive from downtown. The highlight? The Wibit Aqua Park—a massive floating obstacle course that’s basically a bounce house on water. It’s perfect for kids and adults alike, with slides, climbing walls, and balance challenges that had us laughing and splashing all afternoon.

The Wibit operates daily from June 1 to September 2, with four sessions each day. Each session lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes and costs $5 per person. Reservations open at 9:30 a.m. daily at the swim beach building, and each session accommodates up to 65 participants. Life jackets are provided and required for all guests, and children 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult. 

We loved it so much that the kids begged to go back the next day. It’s a budget-friendly, high-energy activity that’s a must-do if you’re visiting Durango in the summer.
