Our Locker Decorating Experiment
Last year, we decided to give the inside of the locker a complete little makeover.

We liked using removable sticky tape because everything can easily come down at the end of the school year.

I like to add just enough to make the locker more functional without filling every square inch.
What I Would Do Differently After Decorating Lockers Two Years in a Row
After trying both methods, I definitely prefer the simpler one.
Last year we did:
Foam board + wallpaper + attaching the finished panels
This year we did:
Wallpaper + removable sticky tape
And I would absolutely choose the second option again.
There was less cutting.
Less measuring.
Less mess.
Fewer supplies to buy.
And ultimately, the locker still looked adorable.

After doing this both ways, I don’t think so.
The foam board method definitely works. It’s especially helpful if you want to make perfectly sized decorative panels at home and then install them.
But if you’re trying to keep the project quick, easy, and inexpensive, I would try the removable tape method first.
It worked just as well for us and eliminated an entire step.
Make It Cute, But Keep It Simple
My biggest locker decorating advice is not to overthink it.
Start with one pretty background.
Add a woven basket.
Add a few magnets.
Add some photos.
Add one or two useful organizers.
And stop.
You don’t need to turn a school locker into an entire interior-design project.
A few thoughtful touches can make a plain locker feel completely different.
And after trying the more complicated version last year, I’m officially a fan of simple locker decorating.
Sometimes easier really is better.
