A Stain Remover That Is Actually Made for Ink

Ink is one of those stains that can make you panic.

A pen leaks.
Someone gets marker on clothing.
Ink ends up on furniture.
A child gets something on a surface you thought was permanently ruined.

And unfortunately, a lot of normal laundry stain removers aren’t particularly impressive when it comes to ink.

The biggest thing I want to say about this product is simple:

It actually worked.

I have tried enough cleaners and stain treatments over the years that I don’t automatically expect miracle results from a tiny bottle claiming to remove ink.

But this one impressed me.

It’s the kind of product I now want tucked into my laundry supplies specifically for those stains where regular stain spray just isn’t cutting it.

And apparently I’m not the only one. Walmart reviews include customers reporting that it removed black ink from clothing that had already been washed and dried and ink from light-colored boots, although results will obviously depend on the stain and material. Walmart.com

One Important Tip: Don’t Give Up After One Try

With stubborn stains, I wouldn’t necessarily expect one quick application to magically erase everything.

Sometimes stain removal is a process.

Apply the product according to the directions, work patiently, and repeat if necessary rather than immediately deciding it didn’t work.

Especially with ink, permanent marker or an older stain, patience matters.

And as with any stain product, I would test it in an inconspicuous area first when you’re dealing with delicate fabrics, upholstery or an important surface.

It’s Tiny — But You Don’t Need It for Every Load of Laundry

The bottle I bought was only 1 ounce, so this isn’t something I would use like a regular laundry pretreatment spray.

Think of it more as your:

“Oh no, somebody got ink on something” emergency bottle.

Is Amodex Worth Buying?

For me, yes.

This is one of those products where the recommendation is easy because I actually bought it, actually tried it, and actually saw it work.

I’m always much more excited to recommend something when it solves a real problem rather than just being another trendy cleaning product.
